- Set-Up of Mobile Respiratory Care Units, Canada: Medical Advisory Support
Respond Global partners with Aspen Medical on a range of healthcare response initiatives on an ongoing basis.
Respond Global was contracted by Aspen Medical to assist with the control and management of COVID-19 amongst crew members aboard a number of cruise ships, including the Grand Princess (San Francisco), the Ruby Princess (while docked at Port Kembla), and the Artania (Fremantle). Work included site visits, medical responses, implementation of infection prevention and control and quarantine measures and return to operations implementation plans.
In addition, we were involved in an advisory capacity during the establishment of a 51-bed COVID-19 Surge Facility in Canberra, an overflow hospital that was designed and built on an adjoining sports oval in just 45 days.
More recently Respond Global has been assisting Aspen Medical in the set-up of COVID-19 mobile respiratory care units (MCRUs) on behalf of the Canadian Government. We provided advice on the specific layouts that each MCRU would need to manage infection control and the necessary medical and facility equipment that would be required.
