Our latest mission to Torba marked an exciting milestone for the Climate Adaptation Program (CAP) team, as we officially launched our WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) capability. With a dedicated WASH technician now on board, we’re better equipped than ever to support the urgent needs of remote communities across Vanuatu.
Working in close partnership with the Department of Water and the Environmental Health Division of Health Promotions Vanuatu, our team is conducting comprehensive assessments of community infrastructure needs. This includes making essential repairs, collecting water samples, and servicing water tanks to ensure reliable and safe water access.
In just the first two weeks, we’ve already begun to improve WASH facilities in several schools and health clinics throughout Torba. These early successes highlight the importance of this new capability and reinforce our commitment to strengthening community resilience across the country.
