In July 2025, HELPR-1 installed 2 × 1,000L bladders onboard its Explorer vessel, designed to load fresh water from our onboard desalination plant (producing 15,000L/day) and transport it ashore. Once ashore, water is distributed via hoses to tanks or temporary multi-tap systems where community members can refill their own containers.

Fast forward to 2026 and HELPR-1 has just completed a 6-day deployment to Ambae Island in Vanuatu in response to the current volcanic ashfall, delivering much-needed drinking water after ashfall contaminated local sources. In just three days, our team has delivered over 52,400L of water to more than 3,000 people across 16 communities – a much bigger volume compared to traditional bottled water deliveries.

Community members are already seeing the impact:
“Thank you so much. You have saved the lives of our community members. Water is essential for us—it allows us to function in society, work, cook food for our children, drink safely, and engage in activities like gardening and building our homes.”

HELPR-1 will remain in Ambae until Thursday, 31 March, continuously delivering water while conducting water quality assessments and sending results to the water department to support long-term planning.
Safe water, rapid response, real impact. That’s HELPR-1.
