Australian Border Force

Early in 2020, Respond Global assisted the Australian Border Force (ABF) with the control and management of COVID-19 amongst crew members aboard a number of cruise ships, including the Ruby Princess (while docked at Port Kembla), the MV Artania (Fremantle), and the Grand Princess (San Francisco).

Our services included leading the initial needs assessment mission onboard, the creation of a strategy and plan to manage the outbreak, and then supervising health teams in the implementation of rigorous infection prevention and control and onboard quarantine measures, including isolation and deep cleaning protocols, management of crew medical and wellbeing support, and providing recommendations on a return to operations timing for safe departure of the vessel.
